Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Fairfield

Fairfield lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Fort Madison, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Trojans put the hurt on the Bloodhounds with a sharp 13-4 victory on Thursday. Considering the Trojans have won three games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Fairfield's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Fort Madison, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Fairfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-1 win against Iowa City West on the 6th. As for Fort Madison, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-4 victory against Central Lee on the 7th.
