Softball Recap: American Fork Comes Up Short

American Fork came into this matchup off a tough 16-run loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Cedar Reds by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The Cavemen's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Mazie Walters spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, American Fork saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Jensen, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

American Fork's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Cedar, they pushed their record up to 21-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American Fork will venture away from home to square off against Skyridge at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar, they will take on Enterprise at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
