Basketball Game Preview: Leake Academy Rebels vs. Simpson Academy Cougars

Leake Academy hasn't had much luck against Simpson Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rebels will host the Cougars at 7:45 p.m. Leake Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Simpson Academy likes a good challenge.

Leake Academy is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2024 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 95-65 loss at the hands of Tupelo. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (62), the Rebels still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Simpson Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Starkville Academy on Monday and fell 56-53. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Simpson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Leake Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
