Softball Recap: Cabrini Comes Up Short

Cabrini was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 9-6 to the Our Lady of the Lakes Lakers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 on Friday.

Elena DelCotto was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Clara Bondareff was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Cabrini's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Our Lady of the Lakes, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cabrini will square off against Dearborn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Monarchs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Our Lady of the Lakes, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Shrine Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on May 1.
