Baseball Game Preview: Glendora Tartans vs. Claremont Wolfpack

For the second straight game, Glendora will face off against Claremont. The Tartans will square off against the Wolfpack at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Glendora will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Glendora and Claremont have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Tartans walked away with a 5-2 win over the Wolfpack.

Santiago Garza was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Garza wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Obert, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Obert's first of the season.

Glendora hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Glendora's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Claremont, they now have a losing record of 7-8-1.
