Chaparral had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-5-1 to make it five. They fell 8-3 to the Trinity Academy Knights. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Carter Hostetler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Trace Hadsall, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

As for Trinity Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly five runs.

On Trinity Academy's side, Braden Roberts made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Roberts was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Camdon Killgore was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Brody Lee also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Chaparral will take on rival Medicine Lodge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Trinity Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Kingman on Monday.
