Soccer Game Preview: Oak Lawn vs. Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South

Oak Lawn is 1-7 against Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Spartans will square off against the Meteors at 4:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Oak Lawn's offense. They came up short against Lemont on Tuesday, falling 7-0. The loss put an end to Oak Lawn's undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 7-0 to Reavis.

Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Oak Lawn, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.

Everything went Oak Lawn's way against Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Oak Lawn made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
