Recap: Hopi Bruins vs. Camp Verde Cowboys
After a string of five wins, the Hopi Bruins's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 64-63 to Camp Verde. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Jordan Mcmahon-fullmer, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds for Camp Verde. The match was Mcmahon-fullmer's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Bahe, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Hopi's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Camp Verde, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Hopi and Pinon will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pinon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Hopi is ranked 125th). As for Camp Verde, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwest Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Northwest Christian and Camp Verde are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
