Baseball Game Preview: Charles City Panthers vs. Mathews Blue Devils

Charles City is 0-10 against Mathews since May of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will face off against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Neither Charles City nor Mathews posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Charles City was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They never let King & Queen Central get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mathews, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past King & Queen Central 1-0. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Royal Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Charles City picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-11. As for Mathews, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Charles City might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Mathews in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
