It was a good run, but Compass Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 24-4 to the Lamesa Tornadoes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 15-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.
Compass Academy saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layla Sellers, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. That stolen base was Sellers' first of the season.
Compass Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Lamesa, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.
