Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Crusaders vs. Pacific Ridge Firebirds
There's no place like home for the St. Joseph Academy Crusaders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They strolled past Pacific Ridge with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 67-48. Given St. Joseph Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 528th, while the Firebirds are ranked 1087th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Angel Ochoa, who scored 29 points along with three steals. That makes it 25 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of St. Joseph Academy's points. Dominick Gale was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
St. Joseph Academy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Pacific Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-20.
