Basketball Recap: Jaylin Tate's Big Game Can't Quite Lead CALS Early College over Valor Academy

CALS Early College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 66-50 bruising from Valor Academy. The Falcons were not able to make up for their loss to Valor Academy from their previous meeting back in February of 2018.

CALS Early College lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jaylin Tate, who posted 16 points. The contest was his third in a row with at least 16 points. Aden Prado was another key player, putting up 11 points.

CALS Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Valor Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

CALS Early College will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Magnolia Science Academy 5 at 3:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Valor Academy, they will challenge Lakeview Charter at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
