Preview: Grace Christian Crusaders vs. Riverside Christian Academy Royals
The Grace Christian Crusaders will be playing at home against the Riverside Christian Academy Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grace Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Riverside Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
Even though Mount Zion Christian Academy scored an imposing 65 points on Friday, Grace Christian still came out on top. Grace Christian sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-65 victory over Mount Zion Christian Academy.
Grace Christian found their leader in underclassman Nate Jones, who scored 21 points. Jimmy Zimmerman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Riverside Christian Academy pushed their score all the way to 61 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The game between them and Christ the Cornerstone Academy wasn't particularly close, with Riverside Christian Academy falling 75-61.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Geo Young, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Khalil Willis, who scored eight points.
Grace Christian has been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 20 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. As for Riverside Christian Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-9.
Everything came up roses for Grace Christian against Riverside Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 80-43 win. With Grace Christian ahead 41-18 at the half, the game was all but over already.
