Baseball Recap: Red Bird Comes Up Short

Red Bird was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls, falling 17-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 13-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Red Bird's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Owsley County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Owsley County will square off against Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lee County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something Owsley County will no doubt try to take advantage of. Red Bird will be paying especially close attention to Owsley County's game: after Owsley County faces off against Menifee County, they'll take on Red Bird again at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
