Fans got a thrill when Chris Hanneke and DaJour Evans connected against Union. The longest such play in 2A Region 6 this season, the connection resulted in 80 yards.
St. Joseph Catholic added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Yellowjackets, 34-26. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Bruins.
Hanneke threw for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 4-8 with 2 interceptions.
Grant Watkins was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 91 yards on 9 carries as Pisgah defeated Union. Demarkis Wilson also contributed to the rushing game with 95 yards on the ground.
Flip Godfrey's team's Hanneke and Harrison led 2A Region 6 in both passing and receiving yards. Hanneke has thrown for 762 yards this season, while Harrison, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 14 catches for 372 yards. Puckett's Austin Fletcher leads the league in rushing yards with 604.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Leake County takes on Williams Sullivan. At the moment, the Gators are in first, while the Yellowjackets are in fifth.
Marshall fell to Amanda Elzy 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
