It was a good run, but Berrien Springs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Joseph Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Shamrocks of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Berrien Springs started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-10.

Kathryn Bergan paced Berrien Springs' offense, picking up 20 kills. Bergan got some help from Vivienne Kittleson and her 23 assists. Bergan also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Katie Wilson, each putting up two.

Berrien Springs' loss dropped their record down to 19-17-4. As for St. Joseph, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-12.

Coming up, Berrien Springs will take on Buchanan at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Joseph, they will square off against Norrix at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
