Basketball Recap: Excel Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Cross Keys

Excel Christian Academy's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Cross Keys Phoenix as the Excel Christian Academy Eagles made off with a 54-32 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Eagles just coasted through the last quarter.

Defeat or not, Cross Keys got some senior leadership from Christian Holmes and Dre Tucker. Holmes posted 11 points, while Tucker had ten points and three steals. Tucker is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Boone, who scored four points and five rebounds.

Excel Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Cross Keys, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Excel Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 81-58 win against Oakwood Christian on the 30th. As for Cross Keys, they will host St. Mary's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th.
