Basketball Recap: American Heritage Stallions vs. West Boca Raton Bulls
The American Heritage Stallions won the last time they faced the West Boca Raton Bulls, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Everything went American Heritage's way against the Bulls as the Stallions made off with a 72-51 win. Given American Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Bulls are ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
American Heritage found their leader in underclassman Xander Gerard, who scored 19 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Gerard, who scored 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
American Heritage pushed their record up to 12-6 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for West Boca Raton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.
American Heritage won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for West Boca Raton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Boynton Beach is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
