Baseball Recap: Azusa Drops Season-High Score on Duarte

Azusa scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Duarte Falcons by a score of 15-14. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (13), the Aztecs still had to take the loss.

Anthony Quezada put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits. Quezada was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-6.

In other batting news, Azusa got a massive performance out of Adrian Pena, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Rafael Molina was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Azusa's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Duarte, their record now sits at 11-5.

While Azusa had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
