Tuscaloosa Home Educators had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Southern Christian Patriots on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on 18 straight dating back to last season.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Tuscaloosa Home Educators was: they took every set by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-8, 25-7.

Suzie Lear paced Tuscaloosa Home Educators' offense, picking up nine kills. Lear got some help from Maggie Deason and her 16 assists. Deason also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Layken Horton, racking up eight apiece.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tuscaloosa Home Educators beat Southern Christian by a score of 3-0 later that day.
