Basketball Game Preview: Monterey Wildcats vs. Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs

The Monterey Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monterey is looking for their season's first victory.

On Monday, Monterey was beaten by Watertown 60-29.

Despite the loss, Monterey had strong showings from MacKenzie Vester, who posted 14 points, and Haylee Trevathan, who scored five points and three steals. Anna Novak also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Red Boiling Springs didn't have quite enough to beat Trousdale County on Tuesday and fell 39-36. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost three in a row.

Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Red Boiling Springs, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Monterey might still be hurting after the 58-34 defeat they got from Red Boiling Springs when the teams last played back in February. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
