            Softball Preview: Crockett Cougars vs. Richards School for Young Women Leaders        
        
		
        
        
            The Crockett Cougars will head out on the road to  square off against  Richards School for Young Women Leaders  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Crockett has five straight  wins, Richards School for Young Women Leaders has three straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Crockett's pitching crew heads into the  matchup  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Tuesday. They came out on top against McCallum by a score of  5-0.

Not much got past  Emily Castillo, who gave up just  four  hits and racked up ten Ks to keep McCallum off the board. Those ten  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  Castillo.
 On the hitting side,  Sadie Peyton was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kaitlyn Vasquez, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Richards School for Young Women Leaders lost  18-3 to Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin on Tuesday.
 Crockett pushed their record up to 9-7-1 with the  victory, which was their 15th straight  at home dating back to last season. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Richards School for Young Women Leaders, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
 Everything went Crockett's way against Richards School for Young Women Leaders when the teams last played  back in March, as Crockett made off with  an  18-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
