Softball Recap: New Castle Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact New Castle can now relate to. They lost 22-0 to the Yorktown Tigers on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

New Castle saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Wells, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

New Castle's record now sits at 10-12. As for Yorktown, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

New Castle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Yorktown, they will square off against Connersville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
