Basketball Recap: South Garner Titans vs. Felton Grove Galaxy
South Garner gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 78-28 victory over the Felton Grove Galaxy. The Titans pushed the score to 63-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Galaxy had no chance of recovering from.
Leading South Garner to victory were Omarion Liles and Garrison Dean. Liles went 7-for-8 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Dean posted 12 points and five rebounds. That's the most steals Liles has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Jordan, who put up four points along with seven steals and five assists.
South Garner was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Felton Grove only posted six.
Despite the loss, Felton Grove had strong showings from Chase Medford, who had seven points and five rebounds, and Noah DeBrew, who earned seven points and six boards.
Felton Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
South Garner didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-46 loss against Knightdale on the 22nd.
