Thomas Jefferson have no trouble against Highland Tech

The Thomas Jefferson Gryphons can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past Highland Tech 37-14. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Thomas Jefferson also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.

Thomas Jefferson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Kimbrell, who rushed for 33 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Dezmin Santiago, who gained 164 total yards and a touchdown.

Highland Tech's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jonah Jefferies, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown. Micah Hinton was another key contributor, rushing for 97 yards on only six carries.

Thomas Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Highland Tech, their loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10.

Thomas Jefferson will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Robbinsville at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Robbinsville is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Highland Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Gaston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Gaston presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Highland Tech in North Carolina (East Gaston is ranked 111th, while Highland Tech is ranked 411th).
