Volleyball Game Preview: Cathedral Catholic Dons vs. Rancho Bernardo Broncos

The Cathedral Catholic Dons are taking a road trip to take on the Rancho Bernardo Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Cathedral Catholic is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since May 14, 2024 on Monday. They lost 3-0 to Classical Academy. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Dons were not able to get on the board.

While Cathedral Catholic was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-23, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Rancho Bernardo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against San Marcos, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-15, 25-23.

Cathedral Catholic's loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3. As for Rancho Bernardo, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.

Cathedral Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Rancho Bernardo in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, winning 2-0. Does Cathedral Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rancho Bernardo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
