Basketball Game Preview: Walsh Jesuit Warriors vs. St. Ignatius Wildcats

Walsh Jesuit and St. Ignatius are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Walsh Jesuit Warriors will look to defend their home court on Friday against the St. Ignatius Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Walsh Jesuit has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while St. Ignatius will arrive with three straight victories.

Walsh Jesuit managed to keep up with Archbishop Hoban until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Walsh Jesuit lost 79-56 to Archbishop Hoban. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (55), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, St. Ignatius got the win against Archbishop Moeller on Sunday by a conclusive 62-41. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Walsh Jesuit's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for St. Ignatius, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
