Basketball Game Preview: Ben Lomond Scots vs. Juab Wasps

The Ben Lomond Scots will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Juab Wasps at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Ben Lomond knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Juab likes a good challenge.

Ben Lomond is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against American Heritage on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ben Lomond took a blow against American Heritage, falling 105-61. The Scots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-27.

Ben Lomond's loss came about despite a quality game from Deshawn Holland, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Makale Aytch, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Juab hadn't done well against Canyon View recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Juab skirted past Canyon View 67-65. The victory was familiar territory for the Wasps who have now won three matchups in a row.

Ben Lomond's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Juab, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Ben Lomond ended up a good deal behind Juab in their previous meeting back in December of 2015, losing 51-37. Can Ben Lomond avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
