Basketball Recap: St. Charles Comes Up Short

St. Charles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Michigan Lutheran Seminary Cardinals, falling 59-25. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 58-39 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Broekhuizen, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Noah Reif, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 15 points.

St. Charles' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Michigan Lutheran Seminary, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Charles and Merrill will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Michigan Lutheran Seminary, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Valley Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
