Basketball Game Preview: Rudyard Bulldogs vs. Alpena Wildcats

The Rudyard Bulldogs will head out to take on the Alpena Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Rudyard is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Rudyard came up short against Newberry and fell 53-42.

Meanwhile, Alpena was beaten by Traverse City Central 69-38 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while the Trojans are ranked 78th).

Rudyard now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Alpena, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Rudyard beat Alpena 65-56 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rudyard since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
