Notre Dame Prep was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Hazel Park on Monday. The Fighting Irish's pitcher stepped up to hand the Vikings a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Irish, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Brianna DeCaussin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Notre Dame Prep got a massive performance out of Abigail Stewart, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave Stewart a new career-high. Audrey Simon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Notre Dame Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are 18-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Notre Dame Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Hazel Park, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Prep will take on Powers Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Hazel Park, they will challenge Sterling Heights Stevenson at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
