Recap: Bandys Trojans vs. West Caldwell Warriors

The Bandys Trojans fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat West Caldwell 54-7 on the road. Given Bandys' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 150th, while West Caldwell is ranked 358th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bandys can attribute much of their success to Elliot Spicer, who rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Cash Obregon also helped out with an impressive 122 receiving yards.

The team's defense also helped out by holding West Caldwell to a paltry 211 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Bandys' ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Sam Hill and Scotty Miley who racked up four sacks between them.

Bandys' victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for West Caldwell, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bandys will take on Bunker Hill at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Bunker Hill will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for West Caldwell, they will look to defend their home field on October 27th against East Burke at 7:30 p.m. East Burke is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
