Baseball Recap: Riverside Christian Takes a Loss

Riverside Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 12-7 to the St. John Lutheran Saints. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in February.

Andrew Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Padot, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Riverside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for St. John Lutheran, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Riverside Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on First Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for St. John Lutheran, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-0 loss against Branford on the 4th.
