The Clay Blue Devils will square off against the Providence School Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Clay took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Orange Park 12-1. Considering the Blue Devils have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Clay got a great performance from Sadie Russo as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Amiah Carrubba was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kaitlyn Howell was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Providence School sidestepped Ponte Vedra for a 6-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stallions.
Elle Burns made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Summer Stearns, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Lorelai Herndon, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Providence School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ponte Vedra only managed four hits.
Clay pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Providence School, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Clay couldn't quite finish off Providence School in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Clay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
