Softball Recap: Richmond Bobcats vs. Telstar Rebels

Richmond had lost five straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 4-9 to make it six. They came up short against the Telstar Rebels, falling 17-3. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Izzie Leonard was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base. Charlotte Crawson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

As for Telstar, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games.

On Telstar's side, Quinn Coolidge was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Coolidge has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Brooklyn Deprey was incredible, getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Taejyah Lego also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
