Basketball Recap: Mastery Charter North - Pickett Takes a Loss

Mastery Charter North - Pickett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Samuel Fels Panthers. The Pumas were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2015.

Despite the defeat, Mastery Charter North - Pickett saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Asekia Gilyard posted 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gilyard has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Scates, who earned ten points.

Mastery Charter North - Pickett's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Samuel Fels, their win bumped their record up to 9-7-1.

Mastery Charter North - Pickett will square off against West Philadelphia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mastery Charter North - Pickett is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season. Samuel Fels has already played their next matchup, a 66-52 victory against Audenried on the 24th.
