Softball Recap: Ashe County Comes Up Short

Ashe County came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Hibriten Panthers, falling 7-1. The game marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Ashe County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maleah Lovell, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Ally Greer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Ashe County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Hibriten, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Ashe County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-0 victory against Johnson County on the 24th. As for Hibriten, they will face off against Watauga at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hibriten is facing Watauga at the right time seeing as Watauga is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
