Basketball Recap: McLaughlin Takes a Loss

After soaring to 62 points the game before, McLaughlin was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were outmatched by the Fort Meade Miners and fell 84-12. The loss leaves the Phoenix without a win on the season.

Fort Meade's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cayden Clark, who posted 17 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. With that strong performance, Clark is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Gabe Solomon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

McLaughlin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Fort Meade, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

McLaughlin will be playing in front of their home fans against Candlelight Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
