The Gregory-Portland Wildcats will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on the Alexander Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Gregory-Portland is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after opening their season on the road. They fell just short of Calallen by a score of 42-40 on Friday. Gregory-Portland was down 42-20 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Alexander came up short against Marshall on Friday and fell 22-13.

Benavides also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making 14 total tackles (1.0 for loss). Alexander got some further help from Frankie J. Fuentes: he picked up a sack and made 20 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
