            Softball Recap: Berwick Bulldogs vs. Greater Nanticoke Area Trojans        
        
		
        
        
            There's no place like home for Berwick, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Greater Nanticoke Area Trojans with a sharp  16-2 win on Wednesday. The  contest marked the Bulldogs' most dominant  victory of the  season so far.
 Makayla Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 11 batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in two of her four plate appearances.

 In other batting news,  Emma Welsh was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, six  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  six  RBI gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Ashlyn Klahold, who  scored four  runs while going 3-for-4.
 Berwick  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greater Nanticoke Area only managed four  hits.
The  win  got Berwick back to even at 3-3. As for Greater Nanticoke Area, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the  defeat, which was their tenth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berwick will challenge Wyoming Area at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 1.2  runs per game  this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Greater Nanticoke Area, they will face off against Old Forge at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
