Baseball Game Preview: Kearsarge Cougars vs. Raymond Rams

The Kearsarge Cougars will take on the Raymond Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Kearsarge came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-6 to Belmont. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Red Raiders: they've now lost four in a row.

Noah Byrne made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jackson Cote, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Raymond, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Newport 2-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since April 16, 2025.

Raymond saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Jewitt, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Kearsarge now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Raymond, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
