Baseball Game Preview: Scituate Spartans vs. Tolman Tigers

The Scituate Spartans will challenge the Tolman Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Scituate is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: West Warwick, who was ranked eighth at the time (Scituate was ranked 24th). The Spartans came up short against the Wizards on Thursday, falling 11-1. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Wizards recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Scituate saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Travis Howman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Tolman entered their tilt with Providence Country Day on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Knights 9-7.

Tolman's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Scituate, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
