Baseball Recap: Providence Academy Comes Up Short

Providence Academy suffered their biggest defeat since April 22, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against the Greenland Pirates, falling 15-1. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Patriots' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Providence Academy's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Greenland, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Academy will square off against Mountainburg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dragons have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Greenland, they will head out on the road to challenge Prairie Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
