Basketball Game Preview: Garner Longhorns vs. Moran Bulldogs

The Garner Longhorns will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Moran Bulldogs at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Garner is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season.

Garner will head into Friday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 25) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Wichita Christian out 62-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Longhorns have posted since December 5th.

Dawson Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Payton Arms, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 20 boards.

Meanwhile, Moran can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game last Tuesday. They walked away with a 42-30 win over Panther Creek.

Garner better keep an eye on Ellis Hise. He was instrumental in Moran's win, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 17 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hise has scored at least a third of Moran's points. Cotton Campbell was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards.

Garner is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Moran, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Garner hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55.3 points per game.
