Softball Game Preview: Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls vs. Neptune Scarlet Fliers

The Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls will challenge the Neptune Scarlet Fliers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Point Pleasant Beach is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

On Thursday, Point Pleasant Beach came up short against Brick Memorial and fell 6-2.

Point Pleasant Beach saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vivian Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Kadidja Braxton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gianna Massimino made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season.
