Basketball Game Preview: Metamora Redbirds vs. Lincoln Railsplitters

The Metamora Redbirds will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Railsplitters at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Metamora is headed into Wednesday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Minooka on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Lincoln had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 52-51 W against the Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Railsplitters have posted since December 6, 2024.

Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Metamora, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Metamora was able to grind out a solid victory over Lincoln when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 46-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redbirds since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
