Softball Recap: Baldwin Beats Columbia for Their Sixth Straight Win

Baldwin waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They had just enough and edged out the Columbia Tigers 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Tigers back in February, they had to take a 6-3 loss.

Jazmine Ramos-Merced was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Makaila Fry, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Baldwin pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Columbia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Baldwin will take on Baker County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbia, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Keystone Heights at 7:00 p.m. Columbia is facing Keystone Heights at the right time seeing as Keystone Heights is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
