Basketball Game Preview: Green Sea Floyds Trojans vs. Hemingway Tigers

Green Sea Floyds is 9-1 against Hemingway since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Green Sea Floyds Trojans will host the Hemingway Tigers at 6:15 p.m. Green Sea Floyds will be strutting in after a win while Hemingway will be coming in after a defeat.

Green Sea Floyds will bounce into Wednesday's match after beating Lake View, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Green Sea Floyds took down Lake View 39-25 on Friday. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by exactly 14 points.

Shantavia Hilliard and Tanisha Myers were among the main playmakers for Green Sea Floyds as the former dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds and the latter posted seven points in addition to 18 boards and five steals. That's the most steals Myers has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Janyrah McClleod, who put up ten points and three steals.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 81-15, which was the final score in Hemingway's tilt against Latta on Monday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Green Sea Floyds' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11. As for Hemingway, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Green Sea Floyds was able to grind out a solid win over Hemingway in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 39-26. Will Green Sea Floyds repeat their success, or does Hemingway have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
