Soccer Recap: Newberry Triumphs

Newberry won the last time they faced Lafayette and things went their way on Monday too. The Newberry Panthers had just enough and edged the Lafayette Hornets out 6-5. Lucas Nowels was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Newberry's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those three contests. As for Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Newberry wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 4-0 win against Bell on the 17th. Lafayette will take on Fort White in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lafayette is facing Fort White at the right time seeing as Fort White is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
