Volleyball Recap: Desert Oasis Takes a Loss

Desert Oasis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountain Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

While Desert Oasis had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-18, 16-25, 25-23.

Bryli Allen paced Desert Oasis' offense, picking up nine kills. Allen got some help from Emerson Moore and her 21 assists. Moore was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Desert Oasis' defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Sierra Vista, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Desert Oasis is set to take on their familiar foe Clark at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Sierra Vista will challenge rival Doral Academy Red Rock at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
